A day in the Peak District with professional Landscape Photographer Tom Watkinson. If you struggle knowing what to photograph this time of year, we will aim to adapt to whatever nature throws at us, be it mist, frost, hail, snow or even rain. There is always something to photograph and learning to adapt is key to incredible images. The workshop will take place in central Peak District. The meeting point and exact itinerary will be provided the week previous as is subject to the weather. Possible locations include, Chrome Hill, Manifold Valley, Mam Tor & the Great Ridge, Winnats Pass and Cavedale, Ladybower, Bamford Edge, Curbar Edge, Stanage Edge (and the other edges), various woodlands including Padley Gorge and plenty of lesser known locations. On location I will guide you through settings, composition, light, subjects, choice of lens and other elements in order to take compelling landscape images. The group size is limited to 5 persons to ensure each participant has appropriate time with tutoring. The workshop will last a total of approximately 7 hours, meeting at 7.30am (approximately an hour ahead of sunrise). We will be on our feet all day, so be prepared for some walking, but we will not be doing significant hiking as we will want to focus on the photography rather than spend long periods hiking. However, we may have some uphill walking if required, maximum 30 minutes. The workshop would only be cancelled in extreme weather where safety in getting to the meet point, or your safety during the workshop is a concern (e.g. bad snow, or extreme winds). I will give a minimum 5 days notice to any cancellation, so please consider this if making any personal bookings for accommodation (i.e. consider the cancellation policies of your accommodation).
